Community Ownership of St Andrews Church Moves Forward!
We are thrilled to announce that the Milton Food Hub and Community Garden has been awarded funding of £157,000 from the Scottish Land Fund to support the purchase of St Andrews Church. This milestone brings us closer to creating a community-owned, multi-use space for food, wellbeing, training, and social activities.
Thanks to the overwhelming support from local residents of Milton —over 80% of those consulted backed community ownership—this funding allows us to secure the building and begin essential works, including tanking the basement for safe storage.
We have been working closely with The Methodist Church who have been supportive of the work being undertaken by the Milton community and the positive community spirit of the project. We have agreed that St Andrews Methodist Church can and will continue to meet and worship in the building.
